Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?-

I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?-

To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?-

I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.
What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.
I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice from experienced people. Thank you

1 RepliesI received a rejection notice for my I-129F because two pages were missing; they were stuck at the back of the packet and I missed them. Instead of sliding those pages into the original filing and resending it, I printed an entirely new packet with a new check and passport photo and mailed that in without the green rejection notice. Will USCIS reject this new submission because I left out the notice, or is a complete re-prepared packet acceptable? I assumed the markings on the returned packet meant I had to start over, but now I m worried I handled it the wrong way.

How can I request expedited processing of I-130 for my son, as I have terminal cancer (multiple myeloma)? Has anyone done this? Was it approved?

2 RepliesHello, my mom is Ukrainian, and she recently got a 10-year tourist visa. I became a US citizen 4 years ago. My husband is a U.S. citizen by birth, and we recently had a child together. Married 7 years. My mom got the visa to see us finally, I am curious what are recent experiences at customs in the airports, what questions are being asked.
My mom speaks limited English, so I was considering giving her a letter written for me that explains her address and her return dates. Do I need other evidence? Does she need any bank statements or any other way to prove she has funds? She will be staying for 2 months. Can I write a letter stating that I will provide her with food and lodging during his stay? I want to ensure she is not sent home at the airport due to some minor mistake. Never know what to expect these days.

7 RepliesMy elderly mother-in-law escaped from wartorn Mariupol in May 2022 and came to USA under U4U. Since then she has renewed her parole once, received TPS, and applied for asylum. In 2024 her daughter became naturalized so we filed for immediate family AOS. I-130 was approved immediately, so we filed 485 in October 2024. The case has been under active review ever since; no RFEs, biometrics waived, and interview also shows as waived although I have my doubts about that.
On Feb 14 of this year, USCIS introduced a pause on all applications filed by parolees, including TPS, asylum, and AOS. A federal court recently ordered the agency to resume processing but who knows what will happen? At this point her parole and TPS are expired, and all she has is a work card associated with her asylum application, good until 2028.
I have a basic legal understanding of "authorized stay" which allows an applicant such as my mother to remain in the country while her application is pending, without accruing unlawful presence. It is not a legal status.
This issue seems not so clear on the USCIS side. According to them, "a pending application or petition does not automatically afford protection against removal if the alien s status expires after submission of the application." The news is full of people with pending asylum petitions that are picked up and put on planes.
If USCIS pauses adjudication of her pending AOS indefinitely, then does her period of "authorized stay" also last indefinitely? How much protection does this really give her?

Does anyone have recent experience of DCF for CR1 at the London embassy? We have submitted the I-130 and had the first embassy appointment (US Spouse) at the start of April but awaiting any update following that. I know the embassy will be very busy now so curious as to current timelines.
